As it is a wooden, handmade object, each dish will certainly have its individual charms such as color differences in grain and small knotholes but that is what makes wood products so beautiful! Keeping both soap and soap dish out of the direct stream of water will help keep the soap dry between uses and thus prolong its life. Hooray!
